Types of Braces for Teens
Braces at Rewards Dental come in a variety of styles, materials, and colors, making life with braces much easier, more comfortable, and even more stylish than in the past.
The most common braces used for teens are traditional metal brackets, though in some situations clear braces or Invisalign® clear aligners may also be used. Your teen may also need a functional appliance to guide jaw growth, such as a MARA or Herbst appliance, Hyrax expander, or Carriere® Distalizer.
Your Teen’s Experience
Your teen’s willingness to follow our instructions and use the appliances that we prescribe plays a major role in the length of time it takes to complete treatment. Appliances and braces need to be kept clean. Food or plaque allowed to gather around the brackets will increase the risk of permanent staining and/or cavities. During your monthly visits, we are more than happy to show your teen how to keep their braces and teeth clean.
